Sarah Stiner - manager

Sarah Stiner graduated with an Associates Degree in Science in 1987.  Sarah is a life long resident of Berkshire County, making the place she grew up home for her and her family.  Working for a local surveying/engineering firm gave her the background she needed to become co-owner of Creative Building Solutions, LLC.  Construction management and permit acquisition has complimented Linda’s design experience and given CBS, LLC a very well rounded team to complete any project regardless of size and/or budget. In 2006 Sarah adopted Gabriela Abigail from Guatemala, fulfilling a long time dream of becoming a parent.  The transition for both Mother and Daughter has gone amazingly well and the reality of being a mother has far exceeded anything she could have hoped for.

What is Green?

a few GREEN practices that you can incorporate into your home at little to no additional cost
passive solar achieved in site orientation and proper overhang length
ceilings/walls/floors insulated properly
Energy Star rated fixtures and light bulbs
Energy Star rated window/doors/appliance/heating system
Dual flush toilets and low flow shower heads
On demand hot water heaters with programmable thermostats
AND gas fired systems - oil pollutes and burns dirty!

GREEN practices to incorporate that REALLY make a difference in the efficiency
foam insulations at perimeter bands and small cavities
smart framing techniques that allow for maximum insulation in all areas
proper sealing of all penetrations and level 1 insulation practices
properly designed and sized HRV systems
high efficiency boilers and on demand water heaters

What make a modular system a touch more GREEN that a site built home?
The manufacturing process is designed to utilize all materials in the most efficient way possible. The framing material is cut and all scrap is recycled into blocking and smaller studs or joists. The efficient use of material reduces the waste produced.

Sheathing material is bought in 8’ & 9’ lengths to increase efficiencies of material. 90% of cut off material is used in our product as blocking for cabinets or mating wall sheathing. Again the efficient use of material reduces waste.

Drywall material is purchased in 4’ & 4’-6” widths and at lengths of 8’, 12’, 14’ & 16’ to increase efficiencies of material use and reduce waste. Much of the cut off drywall pieces  are used as blocking behind drywall seams, reducing drywall cracks during shipments. These blocks are secured to the backside of drywall with access drywall compound, which reduces waste.
