This beautiful site built home was designed by Ritch Holben.  The home is a perfect mix of modern style with old world features such as: reclaimed oak beams and flooring, steel railings, cedar shake/metal and stone exterior to mention a few.  The home has a high efficiancy radiant heating system, 3.5 baths, and 3 bedrooms all with a terrace over looking the lake.

This architect designed home is in Litchfield County, Ct.  It sits atop an engineered steel frame on concrete piers and floats over the site.  The construction of the home exceeds Energy Star Ratings and will be heated via a Geo-Thermal system.  All finishes were either chosen because of efficiency or renewable qualities.  The heating is radiant, the hot water is on demand, the flooring and counter tops are recycled, and the insulation is foam.   Our landscape team completed the exterior with stone patios, transition stairs, and raised garden areas.

This modest size hide away was in desperate need of help!  The home was completely gutted to the studs for a total renovation with a kitchen addition and screen porch.  The project goals were Energy Star level 2 rating, reuse what we can and use sustainable products.  The home is wrapped in 2" taped foam insulation, the walls and ceilings are blown in foam insulation, the high efficiency heating system is a combination of radiant and registers, the hot water is on-demand, and the roof also has 2" rigid foam under the standing seam metal.  The interior boasts beamed ceiling in the great room/kitchen area that are drop dead gorgeous, a high efficiancy fireplace unit, custom designed railings, and a beautiful cedar screen porch.

We designed and built this home for a couple retiring to the Berkshires.  Our site was extremely limited because of wetlands which made the foot print size critical.  Our emphasis, as always, is to maximize the site views and allow for as much passive solar as posible in the living areas.  The very modern interior is balanced by the more traditional exterior.  The first floor master suite has a fabulous bathroom and dreamy closet!  As you can see below this house is also part modular.

This house is amazing in any season, the cathedral great room has a masonary fireplace which opens up to a gourmet kitchen, three season room, grilling deck and deck overlooking the woods .  Entertaining is a snap with the high end Viking appliances, beautiful cherry cabinets and stunning granite countertops.  The first floor master suite with custom walk in shower and jet tub is a perfect way to unwind after a long day of entertaining.  The lower level allowed for a large family room with a wood stove and another bedroom for guests.  Our landscape team design/built this exterior - it is stunning!
